I used to ride with a spoke wrench in my saddle bag. Not anymore.

I’ve had chronic problems with my rear wheel getting out of true. My local LBS has replaced the rim once saying it was bent, but the new rim quickly went haywire too. On yesterday’s ride, I had to true my wheel three times and rode most of the route with my rear brakes open so the wheel wouldn’t rub.
UNACCEPTABLE.
After spending some time reading up on the Internet, I went to B&L Sports in Solana Beach where I got some really great help. The guy who helped me was very knowledgeable and super service-oriented. He explained how replacing the rim on my Bontrager Race Lite was a losing proposition from the start and we spent a good long time discussing the merits of various wheels. In the end, I chose a set of Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL’s.
Toodled around my neighborhood tonight I can honestly feel a difference. The wheels are stiffer, more responsive and turn faster. I also shaved off a half pound off my bike weight (not including spoke wrench
).
Have a problem with your bike? Call the guys at B&L Sports. They rock.

I’m happy to hear about your new wheelset. Going to France will be that much more enjoyable without having to worry about your back wheel.
I have nothing but good things to say about B&L. I agree, they are all about quality and service!
It must be nice to be rich!
