Cycling the French Alps with Cycle-Challenge

by Arlyn on May 6, 2008

If you’ve ever dreamed of riding the beautiful French Alps then you’ve got to check out Cycling Challenge. Wills challenge this year is to ride 160,000 vertical meters. That’s over a half-million vertical feet!

His blog is full of great beta on all the best climbs in the Alps. The elevation profiles are cool and his photo collection has me salivating. I can’t wait for my own trip to the Alps and am jealous that Will lives there and can ride these beautiful mountains every day.

Hi Arlyn,

Yep the cycle-challenge blog is cool. I have already done a few trips to the Alps and they are fantastic.

I am moving from the UK to Australia this year and thought I should do a big bike trip in between. So I am planning to spend 6 weeks cycling along the length of the Pyrenees and the Alps.

It is great that you are getting into the Alps. I should also be in the Alps at around the same time, maybe we will bump into each other on the road :-)

Hello Arlyn,

You will have a great time on your Alps trip.

I will also be watching the Galibier // Alpe d’Huez stage of this year’s Tour.

I’ll be the bald guy in a polka dot jersey going up slowly but cheerfully.

Regards

Will
