The truth is I’m just not fast enough.
I rode with the Descenders this morning after four days of inactivity. Being totally rested, I expected to dominate on the hills and on Dye Road. My goal was to take on as many high intensity attacks as possible to simulate the feel of a road race.
I did ok. I had two great attacks on Dye Road, managing to stay away from the group both times. I also had a couple of “almosts”. I almost stayed with Logan’s attack up the 67. I almost caught Voris up Bandy Canyon Road. And twice today, while in team formation, I just sat up and went off the back.
You can’t win a road race if you are just ok. So, it’s clear that I am not fast enough.
