On today’s ride, my odometer clicked past the 6,000 mile mark for the year. I checked google maps and it is 3,031 miles from my house in San Diego to Boston, MA. So, in 2008 I effectively rode my bike from San Diego to Boston and back.
I only drove my car 3,350 miles this year. I think it’s nice to ride a bike almost twice as far as you drive a car. How different would our world be if this was more common?

Wow! That is awesome, Arlyn! I’m gonna be just a little shy of 4,000 this year, but I’m still happy with that – I had a tail bone injury that I’m still dealing with since February, so I can’t complain.
4,000 is a lot of miles. It’s hard to imagine that we spent so much time in the saddle, but there it is…
