Ok, my application is off. Entry is limited and determined by lottery. Wish me luck!

Dear Leadville Trail 100 Organizers,

I really want to race the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race this year. If accepted, I’m committing my entire training year to finishing the race in less than 12 hours. I know I’m really no more qualified than any other first-timer. I just wanted to let you know how stoked I am to take on the challenge of your race. It’s challenges like this that make life so cool.
