I just heard from the Leadville organizers who cleared up the little mystery about whether my application was chosen and I’m IN! I’ll be racing with about 1,300 others in Leadville this August.
I’ve heard that over 10,000 riders signed up for the race and I’m proud to be one of just 13% chosen. Wow, I better get training! I’ll be riding the 3rd Annual Descenders Monster Climb trip in June which promises 22,000+ feet of road climbing over just 125 miles in 3 action-packed days. I’ve also signed up for the Triple Bypass in July which is a 120-mile road ride with over 10,000 feet of climbing in it.

Put away that lightweight road bike of yours and bust out the Mountain Bike. I suggest you get some slicks and ride your SC Blur on the Monster Climbs Trip. That’ll get you ready. I feel your pain already

Sadly I just found out I wasn’t chosen for the Etape du Tour….. but I won the lottery for my first choice big event: Maratona dles Dolomites – can’t wait.
