I think you hit the nail on the head with your insight about cross being the sport a 9 year old would pick. What kid doesn’t love to ride through puddles and mud! I really want to give it a try, there’s a lot of local races here in Austin from October to December. There’s even a weekly cross series. Now all I need to do is pick up a cross bike.
